The BIGGEST Power Source Your NOT Using!
You won't believe how much speed there is to be gained if you make this move correctly. Release the angle in your wrists at the right point (Down-cocking) is a separator from powerful swings to the rest. Don't be left behind, its much simpler than you think!
I this video I use the amazing new Hackmotion Pro sensor to help demonstrate the correct timing of the down cocking.

    I've worked with both techniques. I find that the "body release" causes me to be more accurate but I find that it is lacking power. You can only turn your body so fast, the benefit of the hand release is that it is easier to generate more power however at the cost for accuracy, it becomes an issue of timing. I was using the "body release" and I was frustrated that I was only hitting my 7 iron 125 yards, out of frustration I switched to the "hand release" method and I hit my next shot 155 yards. I've seen several videos on this topic but it would be nice to see a comparison that measures the speed differences. I also find that these videos are always siting the pros, Dustin Johnson..., they already generate enough club head speed but these videos need to focus on how this method impacts an average golfer, I think if that occurred it would show a decrease in club head speed.

      The speed from the hands is best when it’s Downcock the wrists and the lead wrist moving from flexed to extended. My point is to try and take out excessive rolling the forearms. 👍🏻

    Does this apply to pitch shots as well? If not, do you have a respective trail hand feel for pitches?

    • @TruGolfAcademy

      Full pitch shots yes, shorter shots (within 50) you would potentially want more loft and activate the bounce angle. Which would be more trail thumb on top, palm facing more in front of you. 👍🏻

    This is why flaring your right foot out is bad advice. If you do that, it’s impossible to move your right knee towards your left one. Try it, and you’ll see.

    • @TruGolfAcademy
      @TruGolfAcademy 4 дні тому

      Agreed it makes it harder but as the heel rises a little and the foot rolls inward towards the ball of foot, it realised the knee. I generally focus on flaring the lead foot out at set up and would only flair trail foot if a lack of mobility, meaning a short backswing.

    I am a huge advocate of the right hand only drill. I can make 100 in a row from about 6 feet. But the real secret is to release UNDER and not around. This is what is really teaches you to do. Most people come around or rotate the shaft. Once you start going under you are staying PERPENTICULAR to the tilted plane of the shaft. Most people do not understand that there is a difference to square to the target and square to the plane. In a proper stroke the blade is only square to the target at impact. Also. using a long putter for practice it is easy to keep the putter from rotating through. You do it with your left hand and arm. Top putting instructors teach this. In a proper stroke the putter both arcs and the blade appears to rotate relative to the target. But is is NOT rotating relative to the tilted plane it is riding on. It is staying perpendicular to it. This is easy to prove and several newer training devices are now made to reveal this. The people who make the PUTTIN ARC actually sell a clip on device for the shaft which will keep the shaft from rotating. But the blade is still rotating in your eyes relative to the target. Also remember, the shaft does NOT get longer during the stroke. It can't. SBST putting hacks do not understand this. SBST is all luck. And some days you are lucky and some days you are not.

    • @TruGolfAcademy

      People who hit irons well but struggle with the driver are often hitting down and left (right handed)which is fine for irons but most will struggle from there. Tough to say exactly without seeing your swing but try setting up a little more behind the ball the the driver and feel a more into out and upward move

    • @TruGolfAcademy
      @TruGolfAcademy 10 днів тому

      Depends on what shit shape you want to hit, clubshaft parallel to target line at p6 or clubhead slightly inside hands would be pretty neutral. I would prefer the dominating force from there to be rotation but still some Downcock of wrists and lead wrist moving from flexion towards extension.

    • @TruGolfAcademy

      Topping is generally down to early extending (which keeping the heel down longer will help) , pressure staying over trail foot in the downswing or arms not extending into impact.
